BURT Does not
mention a date or another publisher, but circa 1905.
THE
VOLUME: A beautiful and seemingly a very rare edition
of what is one of Mrs. Southworth's most published titles. At the
time of her writing the book's preface, she herself considered it
to be her very best work.
The beautiful illustrations in
this book and its companion, Self-Raised—not
to mention the wonderful
Howard Chandler Christy Dust Jackets—make them unique among her
published works, which don't seem to be illustrated nearly as
often as I'd like them to be
THE
DUSTJACKET: A
NEW FACSIMILE copy
of the scarce Howard Chandler Christy jacket, which sold
with this edition, made from a scan of an original in very good
condition, printed on one sheet of acid-free paper by an archival
inkjet printer (80 yr. inks), and preserved in archival plastic.
I
think this beautiful, special-issue Christy dust jacket. would
look great on any Southworth book of the same name (regardless of
the publisher), and particularly on all other A. L. Burt
editions. Dust Jackets can be made to order in any size.
If
you would like assistance in obtaining a copy of this particular
edition with a facsimile dust jacket please feel free to contact
me.
